So, wayyy back in September Scott decided to run and bike in this duathlon happening about an hour away from Lexington.
The distances ended up being run 4 miles, bike 25, then run 4. It was a little tougher than he thought with the running. He was expecting two runs a little under 3 miles. So, he ended up running 2-2.5 miles longer than he thought he was going to and they weren't just any 8 miles they were some serious trails.
He had been biking 1 -2 times a week for a couple months leading up to this doing 25 mile rides. So let's just say he killed it on the biking.
on the other hand he had only ran about 3 times in the two months leading up to this and only about 1-3 mile runs. He did pretty good on the first run, but on the last run he pooped out.
He did a good job pushing through! Next year we are going to do it together - him biking and me doing the running. Way more fun right?
You are tough Scotty--I couldn't do it! Good job! Love you so much!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember you telling me about this one. Good job Scooter Bob. I can't wait till we get on do one again and I'm not a flippin mountian bike. I think it probably made me feel like you did on your second run, that and the fact that I was peddling my guts out and getting passed by old grey hairs took the wind out of my sails, lol. I like the Trisuit, p.s.!!
ReplyDeleteScottie--cool photos. You look like you're having a breezy time of it! It's amazing what a media specialist can do for you. We love you; thanks for your enthusiasm even if it did turn out harder than you thought. Most of my projects are like that too!
ReplyDeleteScott,
ReplyDeleteWe are so proud of you. It looks like you had fun. That is long race, wow! TJ says that is bigger than an Olympic size one. We love the spandex. TJ has fully embraced that too!
