Hey family - my life lately... getting crafty

I have officially developed a very strong desire to create a HOME out of our little townhouse and just for our happy life.

This is where some of the magic happens.

Scotty's Duathlon - BAD to the BONE!

So, wayyy back in September Scott decided to run and bike in this duathlon happening about an hour away from Lexington.

The distances ended up being run 4 miles, bike 25, then run 4. It was a little tougher than he thought with the running. He was expecting two runs a little under 3 miles. So, he ended up running 2-2.5 miles longer than he thought he was going to and they weren't just any 8 miles they were some serious trails.

He had been biking 1 -2 times a week for a couple months leading up to this doing 25 mile rides. So let's just say he killed it on the biking.

on the other hand he had only ran about 3 times in the two months leading up to this and only about 1-3 mile runs. He did pretty good on the first run, but on the last run he pooped out.

He did a good job pushing through! Next year we are going to do it together - him biking and me doing the running. Way more fun right?

Our little Christmas at home before our big Christmas

We borrowed a little tree from Bart and Emily, but we didn't really have any ornaments so it's a little bare. HAH! ....................... What might that huge mystery present be???

I made us some fun little stockings with this vintage Christmas fabric that I have had around forever.

Scott filled my stocking with all kinds of useful things that I have been needing and an extra surprise... baby binkies for ages 3-6 months. Awesome, just what I needed most! I filled his with his favorite snacks and some other fun things!

I made Scott a UK blanket as one of his gifts, which were fun, but not near as exciting as what he got me.....

A VIOLIN!!! Scott totally surprised me and got me this violin! He found it used for an amazingly good deal! I have been wanting to learn how to play and now I can. So, I am now on the search for someone who will trade violin lessons for sewing lessons or something of that nature.

Remnants from this summer

So June 29th came like we knew it would and we had to say goodbye to our families that we love sooo much! This was the night before we left. We have grown so close with the Moores (my sister Charity, her hubby TJ, and their 4 girls Emeri, Anabelle, Josie, and Charlotte).

We had beautiful fireside and lakeside picnic for memorial day. It was so beautiful and fun just US time. I love my man!

We had a great time at the Hill family reunion in SLC. We got to spend time with Randy, Sonia, Austin, and the Skifton family. We were hoping to see Curtis, Mellissa, and Brody, but we hopefully will this December!

We had a way fun time hiking Stuart Falls with Catherine and Brad. We had a weekend of fun staying at Catherine's cabin which has the most amazing view of the falls, hiking, doing wave runners on Utah Lake, campfires, and hot tubbing. Catherine and Brad are such good friends to us!

Scott just loves golfing with the guys.

We spent a day in SLC enjoying the sites before we left Utah to make the big move to Lexington.

We got a scooter! We traded in one of Scott's old scooters, paid a little money, and got ourselves a powerful used scooter that is a little too big for me, but perfect for Scott. Oh and it was stolen once so far, right off our back patio here in Lexington. A towing company found it a block away from our house and took it away then made us pay them a bucket load before they would give it back to us. so fun.

Scott sold pest control in San Antonio for 5 weeks while I did summer classes and finished up my degree. He love to send me pictures of him holding or touching scary creatures like snakes, spider, bugs, lizards, geckos, and such.
